What are airport transfers and how do I book one?

A SIXT ride airport transfer gets you to or from the airport on time — connect your flight number during booking and your driver will track your flight and adjust the pickup time automatically.

How it works

1. Start a new booking in the SIXT App or on the website and select an airport as your pickup or drop-off location.
2. Enter your flight number when prompted.
3. Your driver monitors your actual landing time and adjusts the pickup accordingly.
4. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall for a smooth handover (Meet & Greet).

Traveling with passengers on different flights

If your group arrives on separate flights, book a separate transfer for each flight. That way every flight is tracked individually and every pickup stays on time, regardless of delays or early arrivals.

Example

Your flight lands at 3:00 PM and you want 1 hour and 30 minutes at the airport before your pickup. Enter your flight number during booking and your driver will be ready at 4:30 PM — or later if your flight is delayed.

• If you don't connect a flight number, your ride won't be treated as an airport pickup and the additional services won't apply.
• If your actual arrival time differs significantly from the expected time, additional charges may apply for extended waiting time.

What to do when booking

1. Enter your aircraft's tail number in the flight details field
2. Confirm your flight is trackable via FlightAware

Buffer time lets you add up to 2 extra hours to your SIXT ride airport transfer, so your driver waits for you after your flight lands — even if you need time to clear customs, collect your luggage, or take a moment to get your bearings.

How it works

When booking your airport transfer, select a buffer duration of up to 2 hours. Your driver calculates the pickup time from your actual landing time plus the buffer you chose. If your flight is delayed, the pickup adjusts automatically.

Example

Your flight lands at 3:00 PM and you select a 1-hour 30-minute buffer. Your driver will be waiting at 4:30 PM. If the flight is delayed by 20 minutes, the pickup moves to 4:50 PM.
