How do I pause my SIXT+ car subscription?

If your SIXT+ car subscription isn't showing in the SIXT App, you're most likely signed in with a different email address than the one used when you booked.

My subscription isn't showing in the app

Your subscription is always linked to the email address you used at booking. To fix this:

1. Check which email address you're currently signed in with in the SIXT App
2. Check your booking confirmation for the email address used when you booked
3. If they don't match, sign out of the app and sign back in with the booking email address

Your subscription will appear automatically once you're signed in with the correct account.

I'm missing features in the app

Missing features are usually a sign that your app needs updating. Open the App Store or Google Play Store, check for an available update, and install the latest version. All current features will then be available.

Can additional drivers see the subscription in the app?

No. Only the subscriber and contract holder can view and manage the subscription in the SIXT App — access is tied to the email address used at booking.

Do I need the app, or can I manage my subscription on the website?

You can access the most important subscription details by signing in to your account on the SIXT website. However, some features — for example, changing your mileage package or pausing your subscription — are only available in the SIXT App.

How do I report my mileage?

SIXT needs your vehicle's current mileage every month to schedule the right service and maintenance intervals. Many vehicles report mileage automatically via a built-in telematics interface. If yours doesn't, you'll receive a monthly email reminder and can submit your mileage in under a minute:

1. Sign in to your account on the website or in the SIXT App
2. Go to the SIXT+ car subscription section and open your subscription
3. Enter the current mileage in "Manage Mileage"

How do I check how many miles I have left?

Open the SIXT App and go to "Manage Mileage" to see your booked mileage package, your accumulated Mileage Vault balance, and your usage for the current month.

What is the Mileage Vault?

Your mileage package covers a 30-day billing period. Any miles you don't use in a given month roll over into your Mileage Vault, building a balance you can draw on at any point during your subscription term. If you drive over your monthly allowance, the system automatically uses your Mileage Vault balance first. Only if your vault runs out will you be charged for extra miles. The price per extra mile depends on your vehicle model — you can check the exact rate in your online account or in the SIXT App.

How do I adjust my mileage package?

You can increase or decrease your mileage package at any time during your subscription. Changes take effect immediately for the current month:

1. Open the SIXT App and go to your active subscription
2. Tap "Manage Mileage", then "Adjust Mileage Package"
3. Select your new package and confirm

You can pause your SIXT+ car subscription at any time for a minimum of 14 days and up to 90 days — all through the SIXT App.

How to pause your subscription

1. Open your subscription in the SIXT App
2. Go to "Manage Subscription" > "Pause Subscription"
3. Select your desired start and end dates for the pause
4. Return the vehicle to your SIXT location before the pause start date
5. Pick up a vehicle again at the location on your selected end date to resume your subscription

Costs during the pause

No monthly fees are charged while your subscription is paused. If you return the vehicle during an active 30-day billing period, you'll receive a prorated credit for the unused days. This credit is automatically applied to your first payment when you resume — it cannot be paid out in cash.

Example

Your current period runs from 09/01 to 09/30, and you want to pause from 09/15 to 10/15 (30 days).

• Select the pause period in the SIXT App
• Return your vehicle by 09/15 — the pause begins on return
• The unused days from 09/15 through 09/30 are credited to you at the start of the next period, provided you pick up your vehicle on the agreed resumption date of 10/15

What if I don't return the vehicle on time?

If the vehicle isn't returned by the announced pause start date, the reserved pause period expires automatically and your SIXT+ car subscription continues at the regular rate. You can adjust the pause period at any time, including after you've already returned the vehicle.

Security deposit when you resume

A security deposit will be blocked again when you pick up the vehicle after the pause. The amount depends on your vehicle category and can be found in the rental information — please make sure your credit limit covers it. The deposit is released at the end of the first 30-day period. There is no additional sign-up fee when you resume.

Your mileage balance

Any mileage accumulated in your mileage vault does not expire during the pause — it will be available as soon as you resume your subscription.

Your vehicle during the pause

While your subscription is paused, the vehicle is made available to other drivers rather than sitting idle. When you resume, you'll receive a vehicle from the same category you booked. Please note that we may not be able to provide the exact same vehicle you had before the pause.

How often can you pause?

You can pause as often as you like, with two conditions:

• A single pause can last no more than 90 days
• There must be at least one full billing month between pauses — so after restarting, you won't be able to pause again until the second month following the restart
